Collision Damage Waiver (CDW):
Purchase of CDW is optional and reduces the customer's financial responsibility for damage to the vehicle. The customer's responsibility in case of accident or theft is a minimum of 850 USD, not to exceed 4,500 USD, in addition to a security deposit (see Security Deposit amounts below for amount). If the value of damages is less than the deductible the customer will pay for the vehicle repair. Theft, vandalism or damage to parts and accessories are not covered.
If CDW is declined, renter is fully responsible for loss or damage - paying true market value of the rented vehicle, including but not limited to towing, storage, impound, loss of use and administrative fees subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement and applicable laws.
AMAS: Asset Monitoring Activation Surcharge:
At the time of rental, the rental agreement will automatically charge the AMAS Surcharge for rental transactions where CDW/LDW is declined.
The cost for AMAS varies from $8.00 USD per day to $12.00 USD per day, depending on the car group.
Personal Accident Coverage/Personal Accident Insurance: Provides accidental death and medical protection for authorized renters and their passengers according to make/model capacity. Valid for individual sale only with the purchase of CDW. Purchase of PAI provides medical assistance up to 200,000 MXN expense benefits to the renter and all passengers in the car, per event.
Supplemental Liability (SLI) SLI is excess automobile liability coverage that protects all authorized drivers of the rental vehicle against third-party bodily injury and property-damage claims. Theft, vandalism or damage to vehicle and accessories are not covered by this protection. Purchase of SLI is optional and increases third party protection from 750,000 MEP up to 4,000,000 MEP While driving within the country as long as the terms and conditions of the rental agreement are met. If declined, an additional charge card hold applies. Plus the customer will be responsible for up to the full value of the vehicle and third-party damages. Security Deposit Amounts
Security deposit amounts will be stated per each car category on the car selection. At the end of the rental, if there are no extra charges to make (due to possible damage and or other additional services), the location will release the funds immediately. Due to bank processing times, this could be delayed a couple of days, but we find that typically customers have their refund within 5 to 10 business days.
The security deposit hold amount for damage responsibility is as follows:
SLI will be 800, CDW is accepted 600, CDW is declined 2,000 Economy Car (Groups A,O), Compact Car (Groups B,J), Intermediate (Groups C,I) Standard (Group D) Full Size (Group E)
SLI will be 1,200, CDW is accepted 1,000, CDW is declined 2,200 Economy SUV (Group H), Standard SUV (Group F), Full Size SUV (Group K), Premium (Group G) and Pickup (Group L)
SLI will be 1,500, CDW is accepted 1,700, CDW is declined 2,500 Minivan (Group M), Full Size Van (Group N), Luxury SUV (Group X)
Additional coverage may be available at the counter, check with the reservation center or the counter prior to the rental.
CREDIT CARD REQUIREMENTS: A 3% credit card recovery fee will apply to rentals paid with American Express Cards. The credit card must be presented at the time of rental. Make sure your credit card has enough available credit. The renters name must be on the credit card. The signature on the back must match the name imprinted on the card and the signature on the rental agreement. In the event that you fail to present a valid credit card, or there is a lack of sufficient funds available on the credit card, or the credit card is not in the lead driver’s name, the car rental agent may refuse to release the vehicle. In these instances, no funds paid will be reimbursed.
PREPAYMENT: If you pre-paid online or through our call center, the name printed on the card must be presented by the renter at the location and must match the name booked on the transaction.
ADDITIONAL CHARGE CARD HOLD: For security deposit, only Credit Cards are accepted. Debit cards are not accepted.
All rentals require a deposit in the amount of the total estimated rental charges, plus damage responsibility to be held as a deposit on the credit card at the time of rental. For Damage Responsibility amounts please see Security Deposit Amounts under Optional Coverages section. The rate of exchange at the time of credit card billing will apply. When the rental is over, we will process the reversal but the bank may take time to post it back to the account. Due to bank processing times, this could take up to ten days for the hold to be released through your bank, depending on how often the bank settles its pre-authorizations.
If you fail to return the vehicle as agreed, Payless will obtain additional authorizations from your account to cover the rental charges.

All drivers must meet the renting locations minimum age requirements, have a valid drivers license, clean driving record, and present a major credit card in his/her own name at the time of rental.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR RENTERS FROM COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY OF MEXICO:
- Must have a valid drivers license from renters/drivers country of origin or a valid international drivers license.
- Must have a valid passport.
- At this location, Payless requires written proof of Mexican liability insurance covering injury to third persons or their property and collision and comprehensive insurance covering any Payless vehicle while on rent. Written proof should include the name and address of the insurer and the policy number
All renters must present an official ID (Visa or Passport, INE for Mexican Citizens).
The minimum age is 18. There is a maximum age of 75.
If you are between the ages of 18-24, you can rent a car with an additional fee that will be applied to your rental of 25.00 USD per day, plus taxes. (No exceptions are made for the minimum age of 18 years.)
All of our vehicles are smoke-free. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the vehicle. Every customer has a fundamental right to breathe the air.
A cleaning fee of 2,950 MXN will be applied should smoking in the vehicle occur during the rental period.
Please respect others who do not smoke and who have smoke allergies.
Tobacco smoke emits a pungent smell that becomes residue on fabrics, fibers and car surfaces, emitting a strong odor that most car renters find to be unpleasant and/or have allergies.
